ARE THE POLICE STILL MORE CONCERNED ABOUT WHITE PAINT ON THE PAVEMENT THAN WITH THE BLOOD ON OUR STREETS,OR ARE THEY HAVING THEIR TIME WASTED BY UNSCRUPULOUS ESTATE AGENTS///?

Tonight I spent more than half an hour phoning a local police station from various phones to try and establish wether it was true that local artist curator and gallery owner Rory Palmer had been arrested at around 6.30 this evening,half an hour before their next opening,at 7 this evening.I ended up going to a television station instead when my patience ran out.i MANAGED TO CONFIRM THAT MR PALMER WAS INDEED ARRESTED -HE IS IN A CELL AS WE SPEAK-FRIGHTENING IF YOU CONSIDER THAT IF HE DOES NOT GET LEGAL REP TOMORROW HE COULD GO TO POLLSMOOR UNTILL A TRIAL DATE GETS SET.FOR NOTHING.i have interviewed people who spent months in there awaiting trial,for things they were then NEVER CHARGED charged with, simply because none of their family and friends knew they were there.Some were raped,beaten up.Mr Palmer is a nice kid,and he is being victimized by the letting agency who got a sherriff of the court to throw the contents of the galley on the road outside yesterday-two previously disadvantaged untill they met mr palmer gallery GUARDS ARE GIVING A WHOLE NEW MEANING TO THE TITLE OF THE EXHIBITION THAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED TONIGHT AS THEY KEEP VIGIL OVER HIS POSESSION ARRANGED ON THE SIDEWALK..it seems the neighbouring tenants dID Not find his two gallery assistants white enough.they have beautified DIRT CONTEMOPORAY by painting,fixing and cleaning,NOT VANDALISING and I have also seen a list of complaints that mr palmer sent to the letting agency eary in feb outlining all the things that are wrong with the space.it was long.

DIRT contemporary has been running very quirky and interesting exhibitions in an orderly fashion for a long time.
A few weeks ago some white paint splattered onto the pavement outside dirt contemporary.while being transported from the owner of the gallery's car to the gallery,the tin exploded .Accidents happen.Half the Cape Town police force was there in a flash.I suggest they go out looking for missing children
instead.If I drop my groceries in the road and I spill some milk on the pavement,are they going to arrest me?Just wondering...
not long after THE PAINT INCIDENT.,mr PALMER LEFT HIS GALLERY IN CHARGE OF TWO ATTENDANTS SO HE COULD HAVE A BREAK FOR A FEW DAYS-it seems one has to ask for permission to go to the toilet in this country-A LOCAL RAG HAD THE NERVE TO PUT A COMPLETELY FALSE STORY ABOUT HIM ON THEIR COVER WITH A CAPTION-iNTERNATIONAL ARTIST ARRIVES TO FIND GALERY CLOSED AND VANDALISED.sept 29-the capetownerTHIS WAS A FABRICATION.

This so called international artist was only due to show his work there in november,mr palmer had gone nowhere,and from what I HAVE SEEN,AS AN OBSERVER ,HAS UPGRADED THE GALLERY FOR THE PAST YEAR,NOT VANDALISED IT.Mr Palmer was defamed in a paper and then two weeks later this defamtory article will no doubt be brought into court as proof of something.All it is proof of is the fact that the journalist who wrote the article did not check her facts.I hope she sleeps well tonight.But every cloud has a silver lining-Mr Brian Henderson,the artist who arrives for an appointment a month early and then complains when you are out and about, ,does himself say in the article'IT WAS A SMALL GALLERY,BUT IT WAS FIXED UP QUITE NICELY.I CHECKED IT ALL OUT.''CAPE TOWNER 29 SEPTEMBER 2005 P1-THE ART OF VANISHING

His detractor's word's are therefore ironically, an alibi in print ATTESTING to the fact that palmer fixed the place up.The photo of mr henderson standing outside the closed gallery in SEPT clearely shows that the windows are blacked out with newspaper in preparation for the next show,therefore neither the reporter nor the IRISH ARTIST could have seen inside.their claims to vandalisation are therefore hearsay.

I MADE A POINT OF CHECKING THIS STORY OUT because i am tired of seeing people being victimised ,especially people who help the homeless and other artists as mr palmer does.The paper reported mr palmer missing two weeks ago when he was not.Now that he is missing,in a cell,will they write anything about it.?

MR PALMER PAID HIS RENT EVERY MONTH,THIS SEPTEMBER HE PAID TWO WEEKS LATE-SINCE WHEN CAN WE THROW THE ENTIRE CONTENTS OF SOMEONES BUSENISS ON A PAVEMENT JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE TWO WEEKS LATE WITH RENT.?Imagine you run a restaurant and one day you accidentally pay your rent late ,OR INTO THE WRONG ACCOUNT,but rectify the situation-next thing you are locked out of your own shop,the contents of your shop is on the pavement and you are in jail .IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU.
